Steve has over 28 years of experience in advertising and marketing and has worked in virtually every aspect of the industry including homebuilding, energy, automotive, health care, college athletics, professional sports, law, banking, restaurant and government just to name a few.
Steve got his start as an Account Executive at Jordan Associates in 1986. His love of the industry paid off immediately. After proving himself early, he was placed in charge of a client base totaling over $8 million per year in billing. Responsibilities included budget planning, strategic planning, and developing and executing multi- media and marketing plans. While at Jordan Associates his clients included Boatmen’s Bank, Cain’s Coffee, Heartland Homes and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.
After 3 years, Steve left Jordan Associates and branched out on his own, as an owner of Visual Image Advertising in 1989. Steve owned and operated Visual Image until the end of 2007. In his 18 years at Visual Image, he led campaigns for Norman Regional Hospital, The University of Oklahoma Athletic Department, Oklahoma State University Athletic Department, Bob Moore Auto Group, Colorado Springs Utility Company (Gas, Water, Electric, and Waste), Denver Civic (including Red Rock Amphitheatre), Oklahoma Redhawks, First Fidelity Bank, St. Anthony Hospital, Oklahoma City Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. By the end of 2007, Visual Image peaked with over $25 million in annual sales.
At the end of 2007, Steve sold his stock in Visual Image and later opened Phuel Marketing. Since starting Phuel, Steve has worked with clients in all aspects of the industry including; producing and developing creative marketing such as websites, social media, search engine optimization, corporate identity, and branding development. He is also involved in negotiating, purchasing and production of all media including; television, print, outdoor, internet, and radio. He has also negotiated music licensing rights with Sony Music in New York and various labels in Nashville. Some of Phuel’s client list includes; Norman Regional Hospital, John Holt Cadillac and Chevrolet, Cleveland County Tobacco Cessation, National American Insurance Company, Bone Science, Inc (products distributed nationally through Bass Pro, Cabela’s and Wal-Mart), ReSound Hearing Solutions (regional account, 5 States), Cusack Meat Company, Chiaf Law Offices, H&H Sports and Outdoor Complex, United Mechanical Contracting, and Streets Inc.
